    American media reported yesterday that Microsoft plans to choose a new President by the end of this year, replacing current President Steve Ballmer, who intends to retire. 'German', 'the News Agency (Bloomberg) said that the US software giant's Board of Directors will hold a meeting where to review the list of candidates to succeed Palmer and comprising approximately three to five candidates. The candidates who are seen as potential candidates to succeed Ballmer are Alan Mulally, Ford President and Steven Web Nokia firm head. Palmer was announced in August last year its intention to abandon the Presidency of Microsoft in a year, adding that the reason behind his decision was due to his desire to make way for a new President.
    Palmer said he was interested in driving the restructuring process in Microsoft within four years but the boards were pushing to speed up the pace of change.
